Super Salsa
I looked for a great salsa recipe for years before I found this one. I serve it all summer and winter long and it has never failed to satisfy guests. It even makes nice gifts.
Ingredients
- 28 oz can petite diced tomatoes 2 each
- 2 ½ cup onion chopped
- 1 ½ cup green pepper chopped
- ½ cup jalapeno pepper chopped
- 6 clove garlic minced
- 2 tsp cumin This is what really makes this a great salsa
- 2 tsp black pepper
- ⅛ cup canning salt
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ⅓ cup vinegar
- 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 15 oz can tomato paste
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together and bring to a slow boil for 10 minutes.
- Seal in jars and cook in hot water bath for 10 minutes.
- This is a medium to low heat salsa. It can be made more or less chunky based on the size you cut the veggies into.
Notes
May 2015 – Used crushed tomatoes but didn’t like it as well.
