This trip from January 22, 2025 to February 09, 2005 took us from San Diego, CA, to Joshua Tree, CA and Palm Springs, CA. It involved lots of walking, eating, sight seeing, and playing games in bars. It was a welcome break from the single digit temperatures in Green Bay, WI.

At the conclusion of Carl’s backpacking trip, Lori flew to Portland and they visited many of the popular sites in Oregon. Unfortunately, wildfires prevented them from hitting Crater Lake National Park.

Summary: A previously planned trip with REI in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID. This was the replacement trip with Active Adventures to the South Island of New Zealand and on our own in Sydney Australia. The bus tour traversed over 1,700 miles in 13 days. We had 12 different hikes covering 55 miles, one 15 mile bike trip and a 2 hour kayaking tour. In Australia we spent 5 days in Sydney, did two chef led tours and took in a show in the Sydney Opera House.
Continue readingWe stumbled upon Infinite Adventures by accident and it turned out to be a happy accident. The 20 day adventure vacation started and ended in Anchorage AK and we went from place to place on a converted school bus with 2 guides and 18 guests – hence “the hippie trip”.
