Pork Chops, Jerked

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup canola oil plus 2 TBL
  • 4 8 oz pork chops thick cut

Jerk Seasoning

  • 2 TBL brown sugar
  • 2 ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper ground
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon ground
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin ground
  • ½ tsp thyme dried

Instructions

  • In a small bowl combine the Jerk Seasoning.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Rub 1/4 cup of oil over both sides of the pork chops and then sprinkle them with the jerk seasoning, rubbing it into the meat. Heat the chops in a oven safe, very hot skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side to get a nice crust.
  • Transfer the chops and skillet to the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
