Spiced Pecans

This recipe came from  This is a simple recipe that is easy to throw together.  It goes great at parties as an easy snack.

1 egg white, lightly beaten
1 TBL water
3 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp chili powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.  In a small bowl beat the egg white with the water.  Stir in the pecans, mixing until well moistened.  In a different small bowl, mix together sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and chili powder.  Sprinkle over the moistened nuts.  Spread nuts on prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.  Be careful not to overcook and burn the nuts.  Remove from aluminum foil and allow to cool.
