Shrimp Scampi

This recipe has been in our family since we lived in El Paso Texas in the early 1980's.  It is simple to make and tastes great.

2 ½ pounds large fresh shrimp, unpeeled (can also used thawed frozen shrimp)
1 cup butter, melted
¼ cup olive oil
1 TBLS dried parsley flakes
1 TBLS lemon juice
¾ tsp salt
¾ tsp dried whole basil
¾ tsp dried whole oregano
Hot cooked rice

Peel and de-vein shrimp; place in a single layer in a 15x10x1 inch jellyroll pan.  Set aside.

Combine next 8 ingredients; pour over shrimp.  Bake at 450 degrees for 4 minutes.  Broil 4 inches from heat for 2-3 minutes until shrimp are done, making sure that you don't burn the shrimp.  Serve over rice.
