Rice Krispies Treats

These are oh so easy to make and tasty as well.

3 TBL butter or margarine
1 package (10 ounces, about 40) regular marshmallows OR 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies or similar cereal

1.  In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat.  Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.  Remove from heat.
2.  Add Rice Krispies cereal.  Stir until well coated.
3.  Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press misture into 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan coated with cooking spray.  Cool.  Cut into 2 inch squares.

Strawberry Rice Krispies Treats

7 TBL butter or margarine
5 ounces (about 22) regular white marshmallows
5 ounces (about 22) regular strawberry marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Follow directions above.

NOTES:
a.  For best results, use fresh marshmallows
b.  1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme can be substitutted for marshmallows
c.  Store no more than two days at room ttemperature in airtight container
d.  Can be frozen for up to 6 weeks.  Let stand a room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats

1 cup light Karo syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispies

1.  Grease 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking pan.
2.  In a large sausepan over low heat stir together first three ingredients.  Constantly stirring, bring to a boil and boil 3 minutes.
3.  Add cereal and stir until well coated.
4.  Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press misture into greased baking pan coated with cooking spray.  Cool.  Cut into 2 inch squares.
