Jerked Pork Chops

This recipe comes from the food network.

1/4 cup plus 2 TBS canola oil
4 - 8 oz pork chops, thick cut

Jerk Seasoning
2 TBS brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp allspice
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp dried thyme

In a small bowl combine the Jerk Seasoning.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Rub 1/4 cup of oil over both sides of the pork chops and then sprinkle them with the jerk seasoning, rubbing it into the meat.  Heat the chops in a oven safe very hot skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side to get a nice crust.

Transfer the chops and skillet to the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
