Ham Strada

This dish is easy to make and never fails to satisfy.

8 slices of bread
1 1/2 cups bite sized ham, spam or shrimp
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese - grated (about 5 oz)
1 cup swiss cheese - grated (about 5 oz)
3 eggs, mixed
1 1/2 cups milk
½ tsp onion salt
½ tsp dry mustard
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 1/2 cups cornflakes
1/4 cup melted butter

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.  Grease 8x8 pan well.  Put half the bread in the bottom of pan (just put the whole slices tightly on the bottom).  Spread half the ham and half of the cheese evenly over the bread.  Repeat the bread, ham and cheese layer.

Combine eggs, seasoning and milk and mix well.  Pour over the casserole.

Refrigerate overnight (one hour is OK).  Melt the butter and combine with the corn flakes.  Before baking spread corn flake mixtureover the casserole.  Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes.  Let set for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Serves 6-8
